Francis Ngannou is short of backers ahead of his upcoming bout with Anthony Joshua.
However, one person is predicting him to do well, and he’s gone one step further by saying the former UFC superstar will be champion by the end of the year.
Rashad Evans, a former ruler in MMA, is fully aware of Ngannou’s qualities and he’s supportive of the Frenchman’s desire to be the best in boxing.
Ngannou made an immediate impact in his new sport last October when he dropped Tyson Fury before losing a narrow split decision.
Next for Ngannou is a showdown with Joshua on March 8 and Evans has gone all in on Ngannou when offering his thoughts on the contest.
“I mean, it's hard for me to put anything past Francis, man. That performance and now he's gonna be fighting Anthony Joshua. I mean, I think he's gonna do it,” said Evans when speaking to Give Me Sport.
“I made a prediction at the end of [2023] and I said: ‘I think that Francis Ngannou is gonna be a heavyweight boxing champ by the end of the year’.”
