Former world champion Carl Froch is worried for Derek Chisora ahead of his clash with Joe Joyce.
Joyce and Chisora have agreed to face off on July 27, but neither of the fighters are in their prime.
Joyce’s last fight was a perfunctory win against Kash Ali, while Chisora beat Gerald Washington in the 47th fight of a gruelling career.
The veterans now have potentially their last chance to record another professional win, but Froch told Lord Ping that Chisora might be putting his health at risk by going through with this fight.
He said: “I'm not interested in watching Derek Chisora fighting ever again. I can't believe he's still fighting to be honest. It's at a stage now where it's dangerous for him.
“Boxing's already dangerous but now at this stage in his career, it's really dangerous. He needs to take advice from people close to him and that advice should be ‘no more punches to the head’.
“You can be fit and strong and have a healthy diet and deal with the traumas of fighting in your twenties and early thirties, but if you keep going and keep going for too long, you're taking too many punches to the head and it can leave you with devastating ramifications.
“Brain damage and death happen in a boxing ring.”
