Canelo Alvarez is set to return to action in September when he places his undisputed champion status at 168lbs on the line against Jermell Charlo.
The Mexican star had once again been in high demand amongst the boxing world with numerous options available, but it appears his next defence will be against the 154lbs ruler from Texas.
Charlo will be jumping up two weight divisions to take on Canelo and begins the fight a significant underdog.
If successful, Canelo will continue to seek more challenges and there’ll be plenty of options. Tim Bradley, a former two-weight world champion, has predicted the next three fights for Canelo.
“My guess is baby Charlo, the little Charlo [Jermell], the bigger Charlo [Jermall], and then Errol Spence. Those are three fights,” said Bradley when speaking to Fight Hype.
