Former world champion to consider retirement after defeatEd Mullholland/Matchroom
A recent defeat has affected their future.

Former super welterweight champion Hannah Rankin has suggested she could retire after losing to Naomi Mannes on Friday night.

Rankin lost her WBA championship against Terri Harper in September 2022, then returned to beat Logan Holler in March 2023.

She was then defeated by Ema Kozin in Manchester in November last year.

A win would have brought her the WBA light middleweight title, but she lost on a split decision, just had she had done against Harper.

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, she wrote: "I’m going to take a break.

"Congrats to Naomi Mannes and thanks to the massive support from Scotland, sponsors and supporters.

"21 pro fights, 2 world titles, boxed all over the world... If that’s the end it’s been one hell of a ride."
