Nick Ball receives his first world title shot next week when he faces Rey Vargas for the WBC featherweight title in Saudi Arabia.
The fight makes up one part of a huge card that is headlined by the intriguing heavyweight encounter between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou.
Ball’s rise to this position has been an impressive masterminded by his promoter, Frank Warren, and he’s one fight away from becoming world champion.
Warren is backing his man to emerge victorious next week, and he’s admitted that he’d have no issues whatsoever putting Ball in with any fighter at featherweight.
“Make no mistake, Vargas is a quality champion who only got beaten when he stepped up to super feather in his last fight,” said Warren in his column for Queensberry Boxing.
“But I have such confidence in Nick and his abilities that I would happily put him up against anyone at the weight.”
