Nick Ball returns to action in October when he defends his world featherweight title against Ronny Rios in Liverpool.
The explosive fighter has proved without doubt he’s a high-level fighter in 2024 with solid performances against Rey Vargas and Raymond Ford, and now he has a homecoming defence to look forward to.
Moving forward if successful against Rios, plenty of options exist for Ball, and Frank Warren, the champion’s promoter, has identified one potential battle.
Anthony Cacace faces Josh Warrington on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois next month, and the Hall of Fame promoter thinks a contest with the Belfast man is a possibility for Ball.
“That could happen. I mean he’s got a tough fight with Josh Warrington. I fancy him against Josh, but we'll see obviously,” said Warren when speaking to BoxingScene regarding a Ball vs. Cacace fight.
“All these guys, there's so many permutations now, good fights that we can make just within Queensberry, and yeah, of course it's one that's on the table.”
