Frank Warren has paid tribute to Tyson Fury following his retirement announcement, stating that the star has "nothing to prove to anybody" after a glittering career.
The Gypsy King announced on Monday that he has hung up his gloves following a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk, despite talk of a potential clash with rival Anthony Joshua .
Fury, whose 34-2-1 record is one of the best among modern heavyweights, enjoyed two spells as world champion at the summit of the division, winning fans and critics alike.
Speaking after the announcement, Queensberry Promotions boss Warren saluted arguably the biggest star in his stable and tipped him to go down in the history books.

"If we never see him again, that's his decision and that's how it should be," he told talkSPORT . "He has nothing to prove to anybody.
"I've been around a long time and I've seen all the great fighters of my generation. He's up there with all of them. He's been a magnificent warrior.
"I read some of this crap these guys who put their poison pens on him. What he has done in the ring, he has done proudly on behalf of British boxing. He's been a warrior.
"Every fight he's had has been an exciting fight with everything. He's had courage, commitment, bravery. He'll be in everybody's memories for years to come."
It is not the first time Fury has retired, with many speculating that his decision to quit amid speculation over a Joshua fight bankrolled by Riyadh Season could be a bargaining ploy.
However, the Briton - who has struggled with mental health problems and family tragedy over the past year - would still effectively retire as one of the sport's modern greats if so.
