Frank Warren and Queensberry are delighted to announce the signing of Puerto Rican amateur star Yandiel Lozano to a promotional agreement, with Lozano now set to join the professional ranks.
The lightweight, who recently won the silver medal at the 2024 IBA World Youth Championships, took up the sport at the age of seven and was developed under the guidance of trainers Juan ‘Memo’ Lopez and Jose Garcia.
Across his amateur career, Lozano earned an enviable reputation for his relentless dedication to boxing, a strong work ethic, exceptional footwork, defensive skills and formidable punching power.
Lozano concludes his amateur journey with a final record of 119 wins against only nine defeats. His honours include being a four-time champion of the Bert Sugar Tournament, Florida Junior Silver Gloves champion, two-time Puerto Rican National Champion, two-time Scholastic Games champion and champion of the Roy Jones Tournament.
Lozano will be managed by renowned boxing figure Shelly Finkel.
“I am hugely excited to bring yet another exceptional young fighter to Queensberry,” said Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren. “With our DAZN broadcast partnership fast approaching, we stated our intention to widen our talent pool beyond the UK and return to promoting in overseas territories. Yandiel will play a big part in our new horizon when he enters the professional ranks with us.
“We have always enjoyed a strong friendship and long-standing working relationship with his manager Shelly Finkel and I am extremely happy to be working with him to develop the career of Yandiel.”
