Frazer Clarke has announced his decision to turn professional. The Olympic bronze medallist at super heavyweight, the same division where Anthony Joshua and Joe Joyce performed brilliantly during the summer games, is ready to hand back his international vest and pursue honors in the pro code.
Competing at the highest level in the amateurs for over a decade, Clarke, a long-time member of Team GB, has seen plenty of action representing his country. Now intent on achieving the biggest prizes in the paid environment, the Burton fighter is ready to listen to multiple offers that are likely to come his way.
“The next step I think everyone knows,” said Clarke when speaking with Talksport. “People have been waiting for me to go professional for a few years, I think. It’s come a year later than I would’ve liked it to, maybe a couple, but the next step on the journey is definitely the professional route.
“I’m experienced now, I’ve been at the pinnacle of amateur boxing, I’ve got three of the four major medals. I can look back on my amateur career with a lot of pride and I can go into the next step, start again at the bottom and work my way up.”
