Galal Yafai should be able to keep an eye on Sunny Edwards and Bam Rodriguez when they clash in Arizona on December 16.
The Birmingham flyweight is set to appear on their undercard with the victor likely to be his first target of 2024 as he closes in on a world title shot following another destructive performance over Tommy Frank.
Fighting in his home city for the first time as a professional, Yafai wasted no time as he attacked Frank from the outset and scored a knockdown with a well-timed right hand.
Frank beat the count, but it would not be long before he was in further trouble and following a relentless attack from the Olympic gold medallist, Frank’s corner threw the towel in.
Eddie Hearn, Yafai's promoter, hinted that Yafai’s next fight will be in America as he supports Edwards, his former sparring partner.
The plan for Yafai from day one has been to fast-track him towards a world title and if he can impress on the same show as Edwards vs. Rodriguez, Yafai’s first world title shot could be rapidly approaching.
