Chris Eubank Jr’s new trainer has claimed that the boxer is ‘one of the most explosive fighters on the planet.’
Eubank beat Marcus Morrison by unanimous decision at the start of May, his first bout since he beat Matvey Korobov at the end of 2019.
Jones Jr has now taken charge of the 31-year-old Briton’s training regime and has suggested that he could face Gennady Golovkin or Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez down the line.
“This kid is one of the most explosive fighters on the planet, now if we can calm some of that explosiveness down, and teach him to do a little more boxing which he showed in his last fight he can be really something to watch,” he explained on Brian Custer’s Last Stand podcast.
“When he turns it on, he really turns it on and you have to be able to withstand some stuff to be able to weather that storm.”
Jones Jr is so confident in his new charge that he has put him forward two of the biggest names in the middleweight classes: Golovkin and Canelo.
“I know he can fight with anybody. We want Triple G, but we’ll take Canelo too because it’s a great fight for us,” he said.
