George Kambosos Jr. compared Vasiliy Lomachenko to Albert Einstein ahead of their world title clash.
The two former lightweight world champions are set to meet this Saturday ( live on ESPN+ in the US ), with the vacant IBF strap up for grabs.
Veteran Ukrainian Lomachenko lost his last fight to Devin Haney, but impressed in the process, and with a number of fighters moving up from 135lbs, he looks in with a shot to become champion once more.
The same can be said for the Australian, who also lost to Haney, with his most recent win coming against Maxi Hughes.
Speaking to BoxingScene.com , Kambosos acknowledged that Lomachenko’s strength is between his ears.
“He has an IQ like the Albert Einstein of boxing,” he said.
He continued: “A 100 percent Lomachenko has a lot left in the tank.
“But I don't believe he has that dog inside of him anymore. I don't think he wants it as bad as I do right now.
“You can never overlook a guy like Lomachenko. I'd be the biggest idiot if I were to do that. Lomachenko is an all-time great and a guy we have a lot of respect for. We are preparing for the best version of Lomachenko. Once that bell rings, the respect is out the door and it's time to do the job.”
