George Kambosos promised he would continue fighting after another defeat to Devin Haney.

The American returned to Australia for the second time this year to defend all four lightweight belts.

A dominant points decision - 119-109, 118-110, 118-110 - gave the unbeaten American his second win against Kambosos. In their first fight Haney had claimed Kambosos’ WBA, WBO and IBF belts to add to his WBC strap that he put on the line in June.

Kambosos exercised his rematch clause but could not get revenge, though he was not bitter about defeat.

“He’s a great fighter. For me to have the guts to go again with him, he gave me a boxing lesson the first time. He’s slick, it is what it is,” Kambosos said after the fight.

“I tried my heart out and Devin, I wish you all the best in the future. I hope you guys remember Ferocious Kambosos, this isn’t the end. I will be back. This guy is a top-five pound for pound fighter, and I gave him a great challenge over 24 rounds.

“I had a great win last year, I was on top of the world and I tried to chase the best. Respect him, please, in Australia. If the Prime Minister is listening, give him a passport.”
