Gervonta Davis has urged his former rival Ryan Garcia to retire after beating Devin Haney on Saturday night.
Garcia was a huge underdog going into his meeting with Haney following a chaotic fight week, but Garcia was able to produce the upset and be awarded a majority decision victory after knocking down Haney on three occasions during the 12 round contest.
As a result of Garcia's win, some were calling for him to face Davis in a rematch of their April 2023 meeting which the latter won with a seventh round knockout.
However, in a since deleted tweet, Davis appeared to dismiss the possibility of a Garcia rematch and instead urged the 25-year-old to retire.
"It's best Ryan retire now. He gonna get hurt bad," Davis wrote.
Davis, who is one of boxing's hardest punchers, is set to fight for the first time since that win over Garcia, with Frank Martin the likely opponent in an event which could also feature David Benavidez.
