Shakur Stevenson is ready to sit down and discuss a potential fight with Gervonta Davis that could take place this year.
That’s according to Josh Dubin, Stevenson’s co-manager, who revealed that his fighter is more than ready to step up and accept the challenge of his lightweight rival.
After defeating Frank Martin last month, it had been expected that Davis would head into a unification showdown with Vasiliy Lomachenko in November.
That fight is now in doubt with Lomachenko unable to commit to the contest leaving Stevenson as the best opponent for Davis.
“It’s all up to ‘Tank.’ The one thing about Shakur, he will take anyone you put in front of him,” said Dubin when speaking to BoxingScene.
“We’re here and waiting and ready to negotiate.”
