Erickson Lubin believes that Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis faces a stern test when he faces Mario Barrios this weekend.
Lubin and Jeison Rosario are co-main-eventing the fight this Saturday, with the WBC junior middleweight belt on the line.
But there is plenty of attention on Davis moving up to 140lbs, not least because unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez believes his potential rival is cynically moving around the divisions in order to collect the most belts and interim championships while risking the least in terms of his record.
However, Lubin believes that Davis has it all to do against Barrios given his imposing physical stature.
Talking to the DAZN Boxing Show, he said: “ I don't think it's gonna be easy at all. I think he has a tough fight in front of them.
“With Barrios, Barrios is down there - six foot tall. So, you know, we never seen Tank with somebody that tall.
“He's going to two weight classes. So you know, it's a test - one we're gonna see how he passes that.”
