Gib vs. Slim - Slim reveals why the rivalry is so personal ahead of major Misfits clash

Gib vs. Slim - Slim reveals why the rivalry is so personal ahead of major Misfits clashWasserman

A huge Misfits show will go down on November 28, live on DAZN , when the franchise heads to Qatar to stage an eagerly anticipated grudge fight as Slim collides with Gib.

The rivalry between the popular pair has been dangerously simmering for a number of years and they almost settled their feud five years ago, but the bout didn't take place.

At a press conference to announce their show last month, the ill feelings between the pair were intensified as they constantly took vicious swipes at each from across the table.

Several times it threatened to overspill as Gib took countless shots at Slim, and his trainer, the highly respected Andre Rozier, but tempers were calmed until the end of this month at least.

Slim, the owner of an unbeaten record in crossover boxing, enters the contest in excellent form following recent stoppage wins over Tom Zanetti and Salt Papi.

Gib is expected to be a step up for the quick-witted American and although he lost to Jake Paul in 2020, Gib has rebounded well in recent years to restore some credibility to his record.

With the battle fast approaching, Slim, who’s been training relentlessly under the studious eye of Rozier, the former coach of Danny Jacobs, has revealed why things are so personal between him and huis upcoming opponent.

“There’s history between us. We’ve been trying to make this fight for a very long time,” said Slim during an exclusive chat with DAZN

“2019, 2020, this fight was meant to happen. This guy’s been making excuses, he’s been avoiding me, and he’s making it sound like I’m not a worthy opp0onnet when I’ve accomplished way more in boxing than he has.

“He’s an arrogant dude and i don't like the way he maneuvers. He’s too full of himself and he’s going to get humble pie very soon.”
