The bout was originally scheduled to be part of a card headlined by Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez vs. Gabriel 'King' Rosado, but that fight was cancelled on Friday .
Diaz vs. Gesta steps into the main event spotlight as a result of the cancellation, with Diaz (32-3-1, 15 KOs) looking to bounce back from consecutive losses. The 30-year-old was last in action in October 2022 when he lost by unanimous decision to William Zepeda, and that defeat followed a loss to Devin Haney 10 months prior.
As for Gesta (33-3-3, 17 KOs), his most recent outing was more fruitful as he beat Joel Diaz Jr. by unanimous decision in April 2022. The Filipino steps into the ring for the first time in nearly a year as he aims to remain undefeated against American opposition.
