Tyson Fury has mocked Anthony Joshua after the IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO champion claimed to be one of the greats.
The pair are expected to meet next year, with some suggestions that the first of two fights could be held in June.
Due to the uncertainties caused by the coronavirus, it appears likely that the bout will be staged outside the United Kingdom, with America, China, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Singapore mooted as the probable destinations.
Joshua had posted to Twitter a photo of his training, with the caption: “A great modern day fighter will be able to compete in any era.”
However, Fury then responded, keeping up his tradition of social media goading after recently criticising WWE athlete Drew McIntyre, amongst others.
Fury wrote in response: “A great? My a—! You got ktfo by a chubby kid who had 3 weeks notice. You are a great at looking good on pics I must say whit whooo.....xxx.”
The WBC champion was referencing Joshua’s defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr, who first beat the Briton in 2019 before Joshua won the rematch in December the same year, in Saudi Arabia.
