Has Katie Taylor overtaken Claressa Shields on DAZN's Women's Pound for Pound list?DAZN

Katie Taylor was once again brilliant as she dominated Karen Carabajal to retain her world titles and maintain her unbeaten run as a professional.

Earlier this month, Taylor dropped from the number one spot in the DAZN women’s pound for pound rankings due to Claressa Shield’s impressive victory over long-time rival, Savannah Marshall.

Taylor had occupied the top position for a prolonged period thanks to her impressive spell that included an outstanding win over Amanda Serrano in New York City.

Returning to action against Carabajal at the end October, Taylor was in stunning form again, but the level of opponent, this was Carabajal’s first crack at world level, means that Taylor doesn’t progress any higher on the rankings list.

In the fight’s immediate aftermath, Taylor’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, pointed towards an Irish homecoming in 2023 against Serrano in a rematch or the winner of next month’s battle between Chantelle Cameron and Jessica McCaskill.

If Taylor can secure a one-sided win in contests against any of the aforementioned names, it could be enough to see her overtake Shields.
