Terence Crawford finally got his man after years of speculation and negotations, as he took on Errol Spence Jr. on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Crawford has already been undisputed at junior welterweight and he made history when he stopped Spence, becoming a two-division undisputed champion.
Spence is a pound-for-pound top 10 fighter himself, and there were plenty of fighters and observers who gave him the edge going into the bout, but it was "Bud" who emerged victorious with a hugely impressive display, winning with a ninth-round stoppage.
It was a dominant performance from Crawford who might have been in his toughest fight yet. But does this recent success make him the number one pound-for-pound fighter on DAZN's rankings?
The answer is yes, for now.
Naoya Inoue had been the man, albeit brieflty, after he looked unbeatable against Stephen Fulton early in the week, and he has called for a unification fight with Marlon Tapales.
For the Japanese unified fighter, if he becomes undisputed at 122lbs then there would be a compelling case for the rankings to be switch once more, but it's no sure thing, and a fight could yet be months away.
For now, Errol Spence keeps his No. 6 spot and if he wins the rematch, he might find himself leapfrogging both Inoue and Crawford, as unlikely as that seems in the shadow of defeat. Another loss might force him to consider his future, and at the very least cost him his place in the top 10.
