'I can look back and honestly say that I gave my best' - Manny Pacquiao hints at retirementDAZN
The 42-year-old fighter may have announced his decision to quit boxing for good.

Manny Pacquiao has hinted that he may retire in a post on his Instagram account.

The 42-year-old Filipino senator was well beaten by Cuban fighter Yordenis Ugas last weekend after Pacquiao had spent two years out of the ring. He had been expected to fight Errol Spence Jr until the unified champion had to withdraw due to needing eye surgery.

Speculation persists that he will attempt a rematch with Ugas, pursue a clash with Spence, or make one last high-profile appearance.

However there are rumours that he will now retire from the sport to run for president next year in the Philippines.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday night, Pacquiao said: “I have come to this point in my career by the grace of God. It is He who gave me the strength to fight. I can look back and honestly say that I gave my best.

“My family and you, the fans, have been with me all the way. I will not focus on the defeat, but instead count my blessings. God bless everyone!”

Pacquiao had blamed leg cramps in part for the defeat he suffered, and his trainer Freddie Roach has been non-committal about the legendary boxer’s future.
