Joe Joyce and Tyson Fury both believe they would have little to fear if they stepped into the ring with one another.

Joyce is ranked number one by the WBO after remaining unbeaten since turning professional, including a dominant win over young contender Daniel Dubois.

Fury, meanwhile, is the WBC champion and though he claims to be retiring, has yet to vacate his belt and many believe he could be tempted back into the ring for an undisputed clash against the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua, with the pair set to fight later this summer.

Both fighters are represented by Queensberry Promotions and the organisation used social media to kick off a discussion over who would fare best were their athletes to meet in the ring.

Fury was his typically belligerent self, saying: "The only way anybody could have beat me is with a bat while I'm sleeping!" he declared along with a series of emojis.

Joyce responded: "Wait, I thought you were retired, if you want some I'll give it ya."

He continued: "It would be a very technical boxing match.

"But I would just have to wear him down and juggernaut him or beat him at his own game. But it's a big ask, it's a 50-50 fight. Let's hope he stays un-retired and comes and comes and fights me because I'd love that fight."
