The DAZN Boxing Show believes that Terence Crawford could be the heaviest puncher in the welterweight division.
Crawford maintained his unbeaten record as he beat David Avanesyan in Omaha, Nebraska, to retain his WBO championship at 147lbs.
Many had hoped that December would have seen Crawford fight the division’s other champion, unified titlist Errol Spence Jr., but instead he elected to fight Avanesyan.
Attention has once again turned to a potential undisputed scrap but after another knockout victory for Crawford, Akin ‘Ak’ Reyes and Barak Bess discussed the American’s power.
“We all expected Bud to win that fight, talking about how great he is, a pound-for-pound king, but you want to see it happen,” he said.
“He’s fighting a guy who came off a six-knockout winning streak, who looked phenomenal against great undefeated prospects like Josh Kelly, and he showed that he still has the momentum, and Bud did what he did.
“He brings them out in Omaha and he never disappoints when it comes to excitement.
“I didn’t expect a flat-out, going-to-sleep knockout, but Bud has proven he is the hardest puncher in the division.”
Bess agreed, saying: “I also say the same thing, but what do the fans want? I’m sick and tired of people trying to blame Bud for fights not happening. We know now that’s not the case.
“You can’t blame the other fighters, you can't blame Spence neither, it’s obviously the politics.
“Everyone else he’s getting in the ring with, he’s knocking them out.”
