The Mexican is in action on the Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov undercard.

WBA super lightweight champion Isaac Cruz is eager to run it back with one of his former rivals if he is to beat Jose Valenzuela on Saturday night.

The two fighters meet on the undercard of Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov live on DAZN in what will be Cruz's first title defence after beating Rolando Romero to win the belt back in March.

Cruz is no stranger to these big fight nights with his breakout performance coming against Gervonta Davis in 2021, and while the Mexican did lose to one of boxing's biggest stars by unanimous decision, he gave a good account himself and gained the respect of many fans.

With a world title to his name, Cruz wants to face Davis for a second time, but first he reiterated that he needs to stay focused for his upcoming meeting with Valenzuela in Los Angeles.

"This is something we need to resolve; we need to have that rematch," Cruz told The Stomping Ground

"But now we can focus on the fight with ‘Rayo’ Valenzuela."
