Jack Catterall's manager insists there is no rift between him and his fighter and Catterall has not been distracted by Regis Prograis press conference antics.
Ahead of Saturday's fight in Manchester, live on DAZN, the American upped the mind games at Thursday's press conference with an attack on Catterall's manager Sam Jones.
Prograis played a voice note of Jones saying Prograis would "flatten" Catterall. The voice said: "I like Jack, by the way, I know him very well, but I do think you'd flatten him,"
The manager clarified the situation, stating the message was over two years old and came from when he worked for another company who represented Prograis and they were trying to fix a fight with Catterall.
Jones has since moved to manage the Chorley fighter, who boasts a 29-1 (13 KO's) record.
But if two-time world champion Prograis hoped it would negatively affect Catterall's performance at Co-op Live on Saturday, Jones insists he has another thing coming.
"Jack is doing really well and is raring to go. Regis also needs to realise he is not fighting me on Saturday, he is fighting Jack Catterall, " Jones told talkSPORT.
"He is the ultimate professional, and it is business as normal for him despite any attempted distractions.
"Jack was not bothered one bit by what Regis did and by that message.
"Jack is not going into this fight with any injuries or any distractions in his head, because he needs to be at his very best to beat a fighter of the quality of Prograis."
Jones is confident his charge will do the business on Saturday night, as Catterall aims to inflicted consecutive defeats on Prograis after his loss to Devin Haney. However, he admits it is going to be a tight contest.
He added: "Could this be Jack's toughest fight? We will see. Jack's second fight with Josh Taylor has been Jack's toughest test to date."
"I think on Saturday the two styles will gel very well and we will see a really good fight.
"Jack carries more power than Devin Haney and we saw Haney really hurt Prograis. So, it is going to be an interesting fight
