Jack Catterall has said he is interested in a fight with Teofimo Lopez.
Catterall’s most recent fight was against Jorge Linares, which he won last month.
Having secured victory in that match-up, he can consider himself a title shot contender at super lightweight.
Lopez won the WBO championagip after defeating Catterall’s old foe, Josh Taylor, earlier this year. He has threatened to retire from the sport, but continues to be linked with fights in the future.
While Catterall continues to hope for a rematch with the Scot, he is open to other challenges as well.
Asked by Betway if Lopez is a potential opponent, he agreed.
He said: “These are the fights we are pushing for – I would love to share a ring with Teofimo Lopez and I believe my style is all wrong for him.
“I know he’s going through some personal stuff, but it would be nice to see him back in the ring next year and I would definitely put my name in the hat for that fight.”
