The British fighter named three contenders stateside.

Jack Catterall is keen on a fight with WBA super lightweight champion Rolly Romero, Ryan Garcia, and Jose Ramirez.

Catterall’s last fight was a win against Jorge Linares, a former world champion, and while he is angling for a rematch with Josh Taylor after they fought in early 2022, he is looking towards other fights too.

Romero became champion at 140lbs earlier this year when he beat Ismael Barroso, and is a big name across the pond.

An even bigger name is Ryan Garcia, who is looking to make his comeback after a loss against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis when he fights Oscar Duarte in December, which is live on DAZN.

Discussing his options, he told Betway: “Rolly Romero – I don’t know what he’s doing but he’s sat on that WBA title and I’d love to do that fight. Ohara Davis is fighting Ismael Barroso for the interim title so that’s tied up, but Ryan Garcia is fighting again and that’s a fight I would love. Jose Ramirez is another big fight in America so there’s a number of options there.

He reserved special praise for Garcia, adding: “As much as he’s got the followers, the good looks, he can also back it up. To what level we are yet to see – he got stopped by Gervonta Davis and have seen him down by Luke Campbell but he managed to finish him with a great body shot so he can obviously fight.

“Over the next couple of years we will see but it’s a fighter who everyone is talking about and is involved in these big fights so he’s another person I’d like to fight.”
