D Smoke believes that Jake Paul has every chance of beating Tyron Woodley, and praised his determination to stick with the sport.
Speaking on the DAZN Boxing Show, he explained that Paul's experience in sparring deserves credit and shows his commitment.
“There's a good chance he could beat Tyron Woodley," D Smoke said.
“Reason being, I've seen really good people in the boxing gym. So if you, if you jump in like this, either, you get destroyed, and you decide it's not for you, or you adapt.
“So if he has a certain amount of hours put in of sparring with with some real ones in the gym, then you speak the language, whereas he's not working against a set of habits like Tyron, who is still an MMA fighter, you still got to set habits.
“That career’s worth of habits that make you feel handicapped when you can only use so much of that, whereas boxing, if you're fluid here, then you stand that chance."
Further, D Smoke said that while observers might want Paul to step up to take on a bigger name, that's not the course that even the best fighters take as they hone their talents.
“I believe he's going to come in and shake this. It's not that they're not taking it seriously. You know, Jake Paul, Logan Paul, they're, they're putting in work now. Are they going to beat the best of the sport? How are they going to beat just anybody talented and experienced? No, but you know, they are," he said.
“They're doing what actual pro boxers do. Like you say, pro boxers don't come out fighting the greatest. Even if they're those guys, they just fight them in the gym. You know, go get ready for your fight and pick and choose these ones that allow you to grow your brand. And you know, and build up that man.
“Who wants to take an early loss in boxing?”
