Jake Paul continues to keep one eye on the UFC while focusing on his boxing career.
The social media star-turned-boxer was an observer of UFC 263 on Saturday evening. One fight that caught his attention was Leon Edwards' unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz in the first-ever UFC five-round contest that was neither a main event nor a title fight. Edwards dominated a bulk of the fight until the final minute when Diaz had the Englishman on the ropes and nearly finished him at the bell. Seeing the bout, Paul proclaimed what he'd do to the UFC superstar.
"I will knockout Nate Diaz after I knockout Woodley," Paul declared.
This isn't the first time Paul has taken aim at Diaz. Prior to UFC 263, Paul predicted Edwards would knock Diaz out in the third round.
Paul's been highly critical of the UFC, particularly president Dana White, because he believes the fighters are vastly underpaid. White shot back at Paul for those comments during his UFC 263 post-fight press conference by calling the statements "bulls—." But the 24-year-old was complimentary of Brandon Moreno's third-round submission win over Deiveson Figueiredo to become the flyweight champion. While praising Moreno, Paul couldn't help himself to take a jab at White.
"Viva Mexico…..Moreno is a star!" Paul said. "Hope he gets paid like it."
Paul returns to the ring for the second time in 2021 on Aug. 28, when he battles Woodley. Back in April, Paul knocked out Woodley teammate Ben Askren in the first round.
