Peter McNeeley knows what it feels like to experience the force of Mike Tyson, and he’s expecting Jake Paul to go through similar torment when the pair clash on November 15.
In 1995, McNeeley was handed the daunting task of being Tyson’s comeback opponent after the New Yorker had spent time inside prison.
The bout lasted less than two minutes as McNeeley couldn’t cope with Tyson’s relentless style with the fight being called off in the opening round.
Next week, Tyson will step into the ring for a professional contest for the first time in almost two decades when he shares the ring with the popular YouTuber.
Tyson holds advantages in experience and power, but his age and time away from the ring mean that he's a significant underdog before the first bell sounds.
That hasn’t prevented McNeeley from backing his former rival and he has thinks that it could be a painful night for Paul.
“The way I see it Mike is going to hurt this kid. I have seen the videos of him training and he looks real sharp. The kid better watch out,” said McNeeley when speaking to The Mirror.
“Jake Paul has never fought a real professional or someone of Mike’s calibre. I remember what it was like being hit by him and just because you get older doesn’t mean you lose that power.”
“Mike wins. He might just knock him out. I have no doubt he has the power.”
