Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson - 'I’ll fight Jake Paul after Mike Tyson' says former heavyweight champion and friend of TysonDAZN
Retired heavyweight eyes comeback if Tyson suffers defeat.
If Mike Tyson fails to beat Jake Paul in his highly anticipated boxing comeback this Friday, then an ally of the boxing legend is already waiting to take revenge on the social media star-turned-boxer.

Tyson will compete in his first professional fight since 2005 when he steps into the ring in Texas, and former WBO heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs is ready in waiting for Paul, if the 58-year-old suffers a defeat inside the AT&T Stadium.

Speaking on behalf of Brownsville Boxing Gym and Academy, Briggs admits he's keen to make a return to the ring to avenge a potential loss for Tyson.

“If Jake Paul beats Mike Tyson why wouldn't I want to avenge him?" he said.

“I’d fight him anyway for all of that money but definitely, if you do something to my big bro, Mike Tyson, I want to take the fight.

“Me and Mike both grew up in Brownsville, New York. Brownsville stick together, that’s our model. So if Mike does lose, I’ll take on Jake Paul in March.”

It's been eight years since Briggs last competed, but before he can think about putting the gloves back on, he, like the rest of the boxing world, will be tuning in to see just what happens on Friday - and the 52-year-old just wants to see an epic fight where everyone comes out a winner.

Adding: "I want to see a great fight, but at the same time, I don't want Jake to get hurt.

"But I used to train Jake, and I'm telling you, he's a tough kid. For me to see him step in the ring with Mike Tyson is absolutely amazing. I was just training a kid, and for him to even be doing this, respect to him.

“Everyone wants Mike to win but I just want Mike and Jake to make a lot of money, hit the after-party together, and have a good time. At the end of the day, it's about feeding their families.

“It’s a phenomenal event, because we’re in a time now where this is going to be on Netflix. Damn, the whole world is going to see it — everywhere! If you’ve got a phone and a wi-fi signal, whether you're in Japan, Switzerland, Africa, or even Antarctica you can watch the fight!”
