Jermell Charlo has carved out the reputation for fighting with a mean streak about as good as anyone in the sweet science.

He'll dare to be great September 30 when he moves up two weight classes in an undisputed vs. undisputed clash for Canelo Alvarez's super middleweight crown.

Here, DAZN takes a look at Charlo's record, championships and best highlights to date.

What is Jermell Charlo's professional record?

Charlo had lost the WBC title to Tony Harrison a year prior in a controversial unanimous decision defeat for his first and lone pro career loss.

Well, Charlo more than made up for it by using a straight left to put Harrison on wobbly legs en route to delivering three knockdowns toward a rousing KO to become a two-time WBC champ — not to mention, the sweet revenge he savored from avenging the loss to his rival.

Jeison Rosario had just scored a fifth-round TKO upset of Julian Williams to become the unified junior middleweight world champion earlier in the year.

But he'd have no chance of producing such an upset against Charlo, who dropped him in the first and sixth rounds, before unleashing a blunt left through the guard and another left to the body for a final knockdown in the eighth that Rosario couldn't get up from.

With the victory, Charlo added the WBA and IBF hardware to his WBC championship.

Charlo had a chip on his shoulder entering this bout as some fans and critics alike believed Brian Castano did enough to beat him in their original clash, which ended in a split-decision draw, in July 2021.

Nearly a full year later, Charlo silenced all critics by pinpointing perfectly-placed shots to drop Castano twice in the 10th round toward a scintillating KO and spot in the history books as he was crowned the undisputed world champ at 154 pounds.
