Jermell Charlo sends a stern warning to Terence Crawford

Jermell Charlo sends a stern warning to Terence CrawfordDAZN

Jermell Charlo's main focus is putting the final preparations together toward challenging for Canelo Alvarez's undisputed super middleweight championship on September 30.

But the undisputed 154-pound champ can't help but entertain thoughts of fighting undisputed welterweight king Terence Crawford, either.

When asked about the moment that Crawford hurled insults toward him while beating Errol Spence Jr. soundly in late July, Charlo thinks that "Bud" is in over his head.

"Don't write a check your ass can't cash," Charlo warned Crawford, while speaking with Cigar Talk in a video posted Tuesday.

"I'm one of those ones. You gotta face me. I gotta see what you on."

The fact that Crawford defeated Charlo's friend Spence only would add to the motivation, according to "Iron Man" if the two were to ever fight.

"It's a pilot on a stove," Charlo continued about the Spence factor. "When you light that stove a bunch of times, it boof! It bursts out.

"So sometimes, I just hold back and allow to idle in a position. When I get done with this one (the Canelo fight), I'm going to move onto that situation (with Crawford)."

Crawford had touted Charlo as his next target, but recently has expressed the desire to challenge Canelosomething that Alvarez is open to.
