At the age of 24, WBC super flyweight champion Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez is already one of the hottest names in boxing.
Since turning professional in 2017, the American has made a rapid rise, winning his first world title in his 15th professional bout before he became a two-weight world champion.
Rodriguez's upward trajectory continued this past June when he faced the legendary Juan Francisco Estrada for the WBC 115lb title and produced an exceptional performance in Phoenix.
Rodriguez had Estrada down in the fourth round, which preceded the Mexican being counted out in round seven after a hefty punch to the body.
However, the former suffered the first knockdown of his career after he hit the canvas in round six, but has the moment had a lasting effect on him?
"I wasn’t terrified, it was more fun because my coach had told me not to stand there and not make it easy for him," Rodriguez told DAZN's Off the Cuff .
"I wasn’t too hurt, it was a flash knockdown, I got up right away and still won that round."
Rodriguez will make the first defence of his WBC super flyweight title this coming Saturday on DAZN when he faces Pedro Guevara at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center.
