Former WBO junior featherweight champion Jessie Magdaleno (27-1, 18 KOs) will begin his climb back into title contention when he faces Yenifel Vicente (36-4-2, 28 KOs) in the main event of Top Rank's second fight card this week as the sport returns for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the sports world back in March.
In the U.S., ESPN will broadcast the four-fight card on Thursday, June 11 at the MGM Grand Conference Center Grand Ballroom in Las Vegas.
It comes two days after Shakur Stevenson stopped Felix Caraballo with a sixth-round KO in boxing's return.
Magdaleno was originally slated to fight on March 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York before COVID-19 struck. He's aiming to get back into position to compete for a world title as he looks to win his third fight in a row since dropping his title to Isaac Dogboe via 11th-round TKO in April 2018. Vicente plans to disrupt Magdaleno's climb up the ladder and has won 11 of his past 12 fights.
