The heavyweight is waiting for a single champion to emerge.

Joe Joyce wants to be the first challenger to whoever emerges as the undisputed heavyweight champion.

Joyce will fight French veteran Carlos Takam on Saturday at Wembley after missing out on a WBO eliminator with Oleksandr Usyk, who is now fighting Anthony Joshua on Sept. 25.

Joshua - and probably, Usyk - hope to then meet the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder, who fight on Oct. 9 for Fury’s WBC belt. Joyce then anticipates meeting the winner of that clash, but first, he must get past Takam.

"I've got a big test in Takam so I won't look too far ahead because this is a tough fight," he told Sky Sports. "I need to beat Takam up to make a statement so I can go on to win a world title. "Takam gives it his all, and he's a hard fight. It might take a few rounds, it might take all the rounds, but I will get the job done then cruise on to a world title."
