Tyson Fury’s recent performance against Francis Ngannou drew plenty of criticism from the boxing community but it also raised concerns with his father, John Fury.
Fury was dropped in the fight’s third round before escaping with his unbeaten record via a narrow split decision that some thought was controversial.
Despite calls for an immediate rematch, Fury will now head into an undisputed heavyweight battle against Oleksandr Usyk on February 17.
The fight is likely to be a stern test for Fury and his dad, an ex-fighter himself, has admitted that his son could be on the ‘decline’ following a lengthy career that saw him make his debut in 2008.
“For my money, his last three fights, I have seen a bit of decline,” said Fury Sr when speaking to Metro via Freebets.
“Not a decline in ability but a decline in strength, power, and physical condition. I don’t know what they are doing up there, you have to address it. He didn’t look himself out in Saudi.”
