'Whatever happens!' - Johnny Fisher not thinking about 2025 with Dave Allen directly in front of him

'Whatever happens!' - Johnny Fisher not thinking about 2025 with Dave Allen directly in front of himMark Robinson / Matchroom Boxing
The Romford Bull is in terrific form, but is keeping his feet firmly planted on the ground when it comes to next year's plans.

Johnny Fisher insists he is not getting ahead of himself before his bout with Dave Allen, but says he is ready for "whatever happens" when they meet in December, live on DAZN.

The British heavyweight will be on the fight card in Saudi Arabia as part of Riyadh Season's Reignited, headed up by the anticipated Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury rematch.

It is the latest fight for Fisher after another stirring year, which most recently saw him lay out Alen Babic in a first-round knockout to further bolster his reputation.

A win against Allen will move The Romford Bull into the conversation for bigger bouts in 2025, but outside of keeping himself in top shape, he says he has no plans as of yet.

"I take one fight at a time," Fisher told DAZN. "That’s the best way to do it when you’re in my position. I’d like to get this fight done, enjoy Christmas with my family.

"Maybe I'll go down to Cornwall, and then hopefully early next year [we'll know]. I’m in the mindset now, [from] six months ago, I want to train consistently now throughout the year.

"Obviously, not as intensely as during a training camp, but I always keep myself in tip-top shape and I’ll be ready for whatever happens."

Alongside Moses Itauma, who will also fight on the Reignited card, Fisher is part of a crop of promising British heavyweights looking to step up to world level.

Victory in Riyadh will be another step forward in a division currently dominated by Usyk, Fury and Daniel Dubois after the latter defeated Anthony Joshua earlier this year.
