Johnny Fisher admits that he does wonder if he will knock Dave Allen out in a rematch, but says he will prepare for any bout to go the distance after their first encounter.
'The Romford Bull' defeated 'The White Rhino' on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury's rematch in December in controversial circumstances at the Kingdom Arena.
Fisher was dropped in the fifth round and struggled to impose himself against a senior opponent, but ultimately prevailed by split decision to the surprise of many watching.
Discussions over a rematch started in the immediate aftermath, but speaking ahead of any possible clash, the former acknowledges he improve on what he already knows.
"You think about it," Fisher told The Sporting Ground. "There is a thought that you want to knock someone out. But for mental preparation, the default in my head is that this [fight] could go ten.
"You've got to be ready for ten, you train for ten. You've got to be prepared that it could go ten. Knocking someone out is the ideal way, it is the most resounding way. I think I can do a lot of things better.
"If circumstances in the fight play out differently, it makes it easier for me. Maybe I nick a couple more rounds at the start of the fight. But Dave works as well. He's very good on the inside. He's good at nulifying.
"Being in there, I've now got those ten rounds to study, which is an exciting challenge in itself. What I do know is that I was in a pretty destitute place for the second half of that fight. I didn't go anywhere.
"I probably should have been [stopped], but I didn't. It's not the feather in the cap you want, but you take it. Credit to both of us for putting up an entertaining fight that made its way to the final bell."
