Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Former Taylor rival makes prediction for big fight

Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall - Former Taylor rival makes prediction for big fightMatchroom Boxing
A huge bout takes place this weekend.

Regis Prograis endured 12 hard rounds against Josh Taylor in 2019, but how does he feel his former rival will do in Saturday’s rematch against Jack Catterall?

Prograis lost his WBC belt to Devin Haney last year, four years after tasting defeat against Taylor, but the American will be watching closely this weekend.

Two years ago, Taylor and Catterall squared off for undisputed honours at 140lbs, but no world titles will up for grabs this time around.

This is a grudge match that does not need a belt despite the lofty ranking of both fighters, and Prograis is backing Catterall to get the nod this time after controversially missing out in 2022.

“It depends how much Taylor has left in him. Taylor has been having a shaky last few years. I would pick Catterall to win,” said Prograis when speaking to The Ring.

“It’s hard for me to pick Taylor, he hasn’t looked the same in a while, he’s getting older, had a lot of injuries and inactivity.

“I would lean more towards Catterall, but Catterall didn’t look as good against Linares. Catterall looks the fresher man, so I’ll go with Catterall.”
