Josh Warrington still hopes he can fight in the United States before he finishes his career, telling DAZN he would love to deliver for his fans with a stateside bout.
The Leeds Warrior fell to Anthony Cacace in a unanimous decision defeat at Riyadh Season Card - Wembley Edition in September for his fourth career loss.
The 34-year-old left his gloves in the middle of the ring afterwards, but has since confirmed that he intends to fight on in 2025 and is currently considering his options.
Warrington has never been shy about his ambition to box in America, and admits that while Madison Square Garden is the dream, Las Vegas could appeal to his fans.
"I’ve been to America a few times, but I’ve never been to New York," he said. "If I go, I think for myself, the history and heritage would be Madison Square Garden.
"But maybe for my supporters and fans, it would be Vegas. One of the places is Vegas. I grew up watching Lennox Lewis and Joe Calzaghe go to the States.
"If you went, you’d made it. It’s not so much for myself personally, because I’m already living in dreamland – I’ve been a world champion and done what I’ve done.
"It’s for the supporters who have been there, to be able to say that they followed me from the leisure centres to the arena to stadiums and then to the States.
"That would be something special. I’m getting to the latter stages of my career. I’d love to tick that box off. I’d be a bit disappointed if I got to the end and I’ve not done that."
Warrington, who was ranked the top featherweight in the world at one point during his reign as IBF champion, frequently touted a potential trip to the USA for a clash.
It appeared one may have come in 2020 following his anticipated bout with Xu Can, only for the pandemic to bring international travel and boxing to a standstill.
"At one stage, I was number one in the world," he added. "I’d beaten everybody who was ranked two and three. I was screaming for the chance to go to America
"[I wanted to] fight [Leo] Santa Cruz or Gary Russell Jr or Shakur Stevenson. Then lockdown happened, and that put a massive spanner in the works."
