Josh Warrington made a strong indication that he intends to retire after his defeat to Anthony Cacace at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
The men fought on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois, with Cacace defending his IBO super featherweight title against the 33-year-old from Leeds.
Warrington had hoped to propel himself into a future fight in the United States after Saturday's encounter, but instead was second-best as Cacace rode his superior punching power to a unanimous decision victory.
The loss was Warrington's third straight defeat, and following the fight "The Leeds Warrior" placed his gloves in the middle of the ring before walking away, sending a clear signal that he had just fought his last bout.
Warrington (31-4-1) twice held the IBF world featherweight title, first capturing it in 2018 and winning it again in 2022.
