Josh Warrington knows what it takes to go up against Leigh Wood, and he almost found out for a second time this past weekend.
The featherweight rivals were both in attendance at Zelfa Barett’s clash with Jordan Gill in Manchester and they exchanged words before moving on.
Last year, Warrington was cruising against Wood before being caught with a terrific shot that ensured Wood would be victorious.
Speculation has linked the pair to a rematch, but the second meeting still hasn’t been confirmed.
“He said listen I did you in the ring and I’ll do you outside and I said let’s go and he turned his back and walked away,” said Warrington when speaking to Boxing Social.
“He talks a load of s--t to you guys on the cameras but when it comes to face-to-face, he’s uncomfortable. If he’s comfortable let’s get the fight done already.”
