Josue Vargas is ready to fight Gervonta Davis if he gets past Jose Zepeda this weekend.
The pair fight this Saturday for the WBC super lightweight silver championship, and the Puerto Rican fighter appeared on the DAZN Boxing Show to discuss his options.
Asked if he would be open to a match-up with Tank, the WBA interim champion at 140lbs, he said: “Absolutely. Why not?
“He fighting Rolly [Romero] - I love Rolly, funny kid - but if that fight can happen, why can't me and Gervonta happen?
Davis and Romero faced off last week leading to a remarkable outburst from the challenger, who has relatively little top flight experience. Vargas thinks that demonstrates that he is ready for a similar opportunity against Davis.
“I'm just more experienced, more seasoned than Rolly. We all know this,” he claimed.
“I'm saying he got 14 fights only I got 20 fights in. By the time that fight will happen. I will be having about 20-25 fights.”
