The dust may have settled on Saturday night's huge fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia, but the boxing world is still shocked by how Garcia pulled off the win over an opponent who is considered one of the world's best pound-for-pound fighters.
The contest lived up to expectations at the Barclays Center despite the chaotic build-up, and Haney looked in control until he was knocked down in the seventh round. Momentum then swung in Garcia's favour who managed to send Haney to the canvas on two more occasions before the final bell.
Garcia was declared the winner with a majority decision and has now put himself in a position to challenge some of the sport's biggest names in the future.
As expected in the fallout from any major fight, everything is dissected by those within the sport and former welterweight champion Keith Thurman is the latest to have his say on what went wrong for Haney.
"Congrats Ryan. No pop Haney has no survival skill no adjustments he had time to pull it together tonight was not his night good fight, not fight of the year like the commentators were hyping," Thurman wrote on X.
"Run it back Ryan those pillow hand can’t hurt you easy money."
