Kell Brook has no interest in retiring after defeating Amir Khan last weekend.
The pair of 35-year-old former world champions fought at a 149lb catchweight in what appears to be the defeated Khan’s final appearance in the ring as a professional boxer.
Brook was clearly the better fighter and earned a sixth-round stoppage to end the years of bad blood between the duo.
It had been rumoured that Brook might also step away from the sport with a solid victory to go out on, but promoter Ben Shalom suggested that names like Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. as potential future high-profile opponents.
Speaking at the Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall fight on Saturday night, Brook dispelled the idea he might retire.
“I’m a fighter, I love to fight, I didn't have a mark on me in that last fight,'' he said, reported the Daily Mail.
“I’m ready to go again, so show me the money baby.”
He also acknowledged that the relationship with Khan has improved since they met in the ring.
“It’s been a long time coming, he has never wanted to fight me, but I've got to take my hat off to him as he took some good shots and he never quit in there,” he said.
“He kept trying to hold on and get through it, so the respect is there now that we’ve shared the ring together.”
