Business is picking up for "The Businessman."
In what was supposed to be the sternest test of his young career, Keyshawn "The Businessman" Davis completely outclassed former two-division world champion Jose Pedraza toward a scintillating sixth-round TKO at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday night.
Quickly realizing that he could sharpshoot with speed and power — both to the body and face — with little resistance, Davis methodically broke Pedraza down before turning up the heat in the sixth round. There he split the veteran's guard with a crisp one-two combination before connecting on a powerful right. A barrage of punches later and the ref stepped in to stop the fight.
After the statement victory, which was the 10th win of his career, Davis called out the card's main eventer and WBO junior welterweight world champion Teofimo Lopez, saying that he'd jump up from 135 to 140 pounds to challenge the titleholder there.
"Teofimo, you already know how I'm coming — you and your father," Davis told ESPN. "So let's set it up, let's set it up. I'll come straight to 140. Let's go!"
Just in case that doesn't work out, Davis also mentioned WBO junior lightweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete.
Davis added: "It will be an honor to get in the ring with you."
