Keyshawn Davis sets sights on former unified champion after Jose Pedraza clash

Keyshawn Davis sets sights on former unified champion after Jose Pedraza clashDAZN
There could be another lightweight title fight this year.

Keyshawn Davis is aiming to secure a fight with former unified lightweight champion Vasily Lomachenko by the end of 2024.

First off, though, he will have to get past another former world champion in the form of Jose Pedraza (live on ESPN in the US on February 8) and that could well kick him on into another tough test should he want to meet the Ukrainian veteran.

Pedraza has failed to beat Jose Ramirez, Richard Commey and Arnold Barboza in recent fights and Davis should be expected to win if he wants to progress up the rankings and put himself in the frame for bigger events.

Lomachenko is one such fight.

“I would love to fight (Vasiliy) Lomachenko,” Davis told BoxingScene.com.

Lomachenko is rumoured to be on course for an IBF title fight with yet another former champion at lightweight, George Kambosos Jr.

He added: “I would love to fight Lomachenko by the end of this year.”
