Kid Galahad on Kiko Martinez fight: ‘If you can’t beat Kiko, then you shouldn’t be at world level’DAZN
Exclusive interview: Kid Galahad is expecting a tough test from Kiko Martinez on Saturday night.

Kid Galahad’s reign as the IBF world featherweight champion gets underway on November 13th when he faces Kiko Martinez in Sheffield exclusively live on DAZN.

However, while many believe Martinez is an easy voluntary defence for Galahad, the Sheffield fighter is not letting complacency distract him from the task at hand.

“Kiko’s a former world champion, he’s solid, he can punch,” Galahad said in an exclusive interview with DAZN.

“If you can’t beat Kiko, then you shouldn’t be at world level.

“If you’re a special fighter, you’ve got to do a job on Kiko Martinez.”

Martinez is often perceived as an easy opponent for this current generation of featherweights, but the Spaniard is an experienced operator and Galahad is ready for what could be Martinez's last shot at winning a world title.

“This is his last chance, I’m expecting the best Kiko on 13th November, he’s going to try and upset the odds,” Galahad claimed.

“I’m not one of those fighters to take people lightly, whatever he brings, I’m ready.

“I can’t afford to lose the fight. Doesn’t matter if it’s my hometown crowd or anywhere, I’m going to do a job on him.”
